Halitosis

Halitosis is defined; a condition of having offensive-smelling breath; bad breath. Where does bad breath come from ? Bad breath usually comes from very poor oral hygiene, dry mouth, infections, tobacco use, and what you eat. Halitosis can usually be stop just by brushing and flossing daily. If brushing and flossing is done correctly it removes plaque and left over food that is left over in between your teeth. This is one of the main reasons people have bad breathe.
You can also use mouthwash to help, but if there is food in between your teeth it will not work. Dry mouth can also cause bad breathe. Saliva flow is very important because it can wash away bacteria or particles that are left over, If those particles or bacteria are left in the mouth they will cause bad breathe. Bad breathe is also linked with other medical conditions. If you brush and floss daily and you still can’t get rid of the bad breathe then there can be other problems going on in your body. Some problems that are linked to bad breathe are liver or kidney problems, chronic sinus infections, diabetes, and bronchitis. Tobacco cause more problems than just bad breathe. It increases the risk of oral cancer or throat cancer. In the early stages of both oral cancer and throat cancer have similar pain like tooth decay and sometimes are even discomfort less. It is very important to find different alternatives or getting professional help on quitting tobacco. What you eat can also affect bad breathe. Foods such as onions or garlic tend to stay longer in your system even if you brush or eat. High sugary foods not only cause bad breathe but can also result in dental caries. It is very important to brush after eating foods with high sugar levels. It is very important to have routine check ups and to brush and floss daily.
